My Fourth Year project was to design an Architecture School for Greenwich University. My design concept reflects my interest in fitting a design school, which is by nature a messy and dynamic place, into a polite and picturesque setting like Greenwich. It was a large and complex brief (informed by the real life project that was being constructed at the time) that included faculties out-with architecture, a library and a gallery.
The design process started with a social and environmental strategy which then informed massing. At this point models started to be made and continued to shape the process at various different scales. The model below was repeatedly cut apart and rebuilt to test internal configurations and became the main driving force behind my final scheme.
